Traditions are Important...

...but sometimes they need to change. We've been going to Old Salem, NC for many years as a family. We do pretty much the same thing every time we go, eat at the same places, and stay at the same hotel.
We played at a church for a few minutes to stretch our legs and took some pictures.
As the girls get older, it's harder and harder to squeeze the time in to go, but it is definitely worth it. We always talk about when they are grown with their own families that they will have to come with us. I know it won't always be possible so I'm enjoying every moment I have with them.

We enjoyed a surprise carriage ride and the beautiful weather.

The single sisters house was really funny. I don't know why we never went in it before this trip.

Ray doesn't get to hang with his girls much.

There is much playing in the field and in the streets.
Day or Night
God's creation is so evident during this feast of colors and nature.
And everyone was appropriately sobered at "God's Acre", the Moravian cemetery. All of the headstones are the same, but they each tell a different story.
