Hospitality in Virginia

The symbol for hospitality in Virginia is the pineapple. We have been the recipients of an unusual kind of hospitality. Our hosts never even showed up. Ray was scheduled to preach here while they were vacationing in Alabama, so it was completely natural for us to stay in their home and we have had a great time. Did I mention their home is on a river that empties in the Chesapeake Bay, and that parts of it date to the Civil War days, and that it was spotlessly clean and decorated when we got here? We have had a great time enjoying some of the local historical sites while having some wonderful family time. Now how am I going to get this place as clean as it was when we got here? (Sometimes it pays to have five daughters.)

Lori,
What wonderful pictures of your trip. It was great to look over them. We are so pleased that you all could make sure things were taken care of here while we were away. Maybe next time you all can arrive a day early and have a meal with the host family! I think there would be room for one night with us all under this roof.
God Bless,
April Loomis
