I was really impressed with Sandy as an intelligent woman of God. Though her children are grown and she lives in a very remote area, she is working hard to remain educated in the things of God and society. As we enjoyed her home cooked meals, we found there wasn't one area that we talked about that she wasn't fully knowledgeable. A native of Switzerland, she knew everything there was to know about American politics, the Reformation, the Catholic Church, cooking, birds, breeds of dogs, wildlife, music, etc. She even began learning Hebrew 10 years ago and can read the Old Testament in its original language. She truly demonstrated to us a love for God and learning all she can about Him and serving Him.
The purpose of this blog is to encourage ladies in the variety of aspects of homemaking. I would like for all women to fulfill their God-given calling to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

Shepherd's Refuge
We have a special thanks to Ruedi and Sandy at Shepherd's Refuge in Dahlonega, GA. This week, Ray and I spent several days at their beautiful lodge/bed and breakfast style home. They run the ministry to pastors and their wives, free of charge and provide a place to come and rest. They are really interested in helping pastors avoid burn-out and helping them keep good family relationships. Though Ray and I are in a great church and have wonderful family relationships, it was so good for us. We were able to spend time together and work together on a book he is trying to finish. We hope to go back again for more than just a quiet uninterrupted place to work, but a place to seek God and enjoy their company.
