Outdoor Rooms

Last week I realized what a treasure outdoor rooms can be. Ray's parents have created this space in their yard that is like a magnet to everyone who comes to their home. At any given time their is someone sitting in one of the bench swings and looking out over the yard. Of course, if you get outside early enough it's a great place to enjoy a quiet time with the birds. Their huge, flat yard is such a wonderful place for kids to run and play. Most of our girls have learned to ride a bike there. Nana has planted many beautiful bushes and flowers among the blooming trees for us all to enjoy. Here is picture of Lydia hurrying to gather flowers that sprung up before the lawn mower got them and another of the girls posing on the favorite swing.

Lori,

I've been in one of your "outdoor rooms" sipping lemonade with you and a friend. Enjoying your company as we spoke about life and motherhood. It was a special time to me. What I like most about sitting outdoors is that I am away from the distractions that are in the home and drawn to listen to and see God's creation around me. Hannah and I enjoy sitting on the porch reading or making bracelets. Often times the three of us will have our dinner out there as long as it is not too hot for Greg.
