What a precious picture Hannah snapped of Lydia when we were about to go to church on the Sunday morning after we put up our tree.
Lydia took making a gingerbread house to a new level. She wore a lot of icing and gumdrops. The outfit is a bumblebee costume that she wears all the time (only to alternate with her flapper dress, princess dress and her new Cinderella dress.)
Here is tradition started years ago. The girls all sleep upstairs then wake up early to sit at the top of the stairs to wait on us to "wake" up.
Lydia seemed to show the true joy in receiving this year when she got new rubber boots.
At our Christmas party we had all of the kids put on an impromptu Nativity play. They drew names to see who would play each part. If you look carefully you can see Rachel was the donkey.
This is another tradition that we have enjoyed year after year. The girls get out on the roof and sing and play while Ray puts up lights and I stand on the ground and worry that they're going to fall.

Hi Lori,
My name is Eva Atkins. Your dear dh came to our church (Joppa Baptist) in Florida a few months back for a family conference. It was such a blessing. The other night my dh emailed me your site so I could read more on your family. I was intrigued to know more about you when I found out that our three girls have the same names as three of your girls in the same order! That is so neat! Also if we had a fourth I wanted to use either Rebekah or Lydia! :) I have enjoyed looking at your pictures and reading your entries. I am lifting you all up in special prayer!
I could really relate to the light hanging tradition. So far we don't really have a tradition established but lets just say that my roof climbing, former carpenter dh loves to let the girls get over any fear of heights by ladder, bucket truck or window opening!
If you would like to read more about us, please come over to www.homeschoolblogger.com/5atkins
May God bless your ministry here!
In Him, Eva
