How come it's so easy to see the sin in others when the log in one's own eye is giant?

We're in a new member's class right now, and the topic for the last two weeks has been church discipline. So we've definitely been discussing this truth! It is kind of interesting that, even as self-centered as we can be, we struggle to really see ourselves as we are.

Hi Lori- My name is Amy and I came across your blog and was drawn to your scripture post. I just recently used the same scripture in a blog post of miy own. This has to be one of my favorite verses dealing with bias or prejudice. We are ever so quick to judge others. Pinpointing what we see as wrong in a person without looking at ourselves first. Have you ever heard the saying, “People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.” Always consider yourself first. Remove the plank in your own eye before you suggest the removal of the speck in your neighbor's. How much clearer we can see once we go within ourselves and see ourselves for what we really are. Many blessing to you.
