Are You a Minister of the Gospel?

Do you share the gospel as often as you share your views on homeschooling? A pastor of a small church that housed a very successful homeschool coop mentioned once that if his congregation shared the gospel as often as they share "homeschool" their church might grow. Sometimes, I fall into that trap myself. I'll get caught up in the discussion and forget one reason we homeschool is so that we have more opportunity to share our faith - with our children and others. A mother of a four year was talking with me last night about curriculum and beginning the process of teaching for the first time. She was trying to keep from being overwhelmed with all the choices yet do the right thing for her daughter. I was trying to encourage her, but the moment she left my house I felt that I had let her down. I failed to keep before her the majesty of God in all things, including homeschooling her only child. God is so great and He is faithful to help us in all things - including homeschool. So when you talk to someone about homeschooling for the first time, don't forget to be a minister of the gospel, not a minster of homeschool.
