Poor Ray! He woke up on Father's Day to a broken washer. (I don't normally wash on Sundays, but Rachel had come home late Saturday and I was trying to get her clothes clean before she had to leave at noon.) He worked on the washer until he had to leave, then after church he spent half of the afternoon buying an new washer and the other half installing it. I did get to cook him a couple of his favorite meals this weekend though. This is the recipe of a casserole he got from a men's retreat years ago. It's definitely a man's meal and great served over grits or fried potatoes.
Breakfast Casserole from the Rodrigue Family
Place 4-5 slices of bread, broken into small pieces in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle with 1 pound of browned and drained sausage, then top that with 2 cups of shredded cheese. In a separate bowl beat 6 eggs, 2 cups of milk and 3/4 tsp of dry mustard then pour the egg mixture over the cheese. Dilute 1 can of cream of mushroom with a half cup of milk and pour it over the casserole. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until browned and firm. tent with foil if it browns too fast. It's done when it's not runny.

Poor Ryan too! I remembered and started preparing for Father's Day weeks in advanc, but due to my Mom's surgery on Thursday I forgot all about it. I didn't even have his present finished and you wanna know how I realized it was Father's Day? Someone at church told him Happy Father's Day :( I fellt sooooooo bad, but he took it it well. At least it looked like he did :) Great casserole! My mom makes one almost identical to it.
