VOTE

Can we afford to not be “one issue” voters? Ray has tried to keep me up to date on the politics of the presidential election and he made the comment about us being one issue voters. When you look at economics, foreign policies, character associations … of the candidates this year, the question goes back to their stand on life. What a person would allow to the unborn and defenseless tells a lot about who that person is. It seems that’s what we are thinking of the most as we go to the polls.

Yep, we're in a bit of a dalema ourselves. We do plan to vote, but not for either of the two poorly chosen candidates. We hope to be able to write in Ron Paul who stands for a the things we do. He also not a fake and has not wavered his position for what our society wants(which is probably why he did not get nominated). It's a matter of having a clear conscience for us. And I have to say there are some erie similarities between the beast in revelation and a certain democratic candidate, hmmmm?!

In our home, including our grown children, we are voting for the candidate who is pro-life, against abortion and against same sex marriages.

Thanks for the reminder Lori. God is sovereign and has ordained the person who will serve as our President (Romans 13). That being said the sovereignty of God is never an excuse for a life of passivity. As Christians we want to do all that we can to stem the tide of evil. That primarily is demonstrated in our preaching of the gospel. However, we as well must do what we can to promote right and defeat the wrong in this world that we live in. If Obama wins he likely will help to sweep in with him a super majority in the House and Senate and will likely have opportunity to appoint at least two Supreme Court justices. The door will be opened wider for abortion and other forms of unrighteousness. Though Senator McCain was not in my top 20 choices I will nevertheless vote for him and for his well qualified running mate.
