A Friend Sticks Closer Than a Brother
The timelessness of friends is something only God can give. When you have friends for years, you learn a lot about them. You learn what they like and don’t like, as well as what they believe. Having godly friends to grow old with is a blessing. (No – I am not admitting to getting old.) We can say the Baileys are our oldest friends because we became friends with them in Seminary just after we all got married. With them we have been through the formation of our doctrine, countless games of Spades, birth of daughters, going to our first churches, birth of daughters, reforming what we believe, birth of our daughters, loss of babies, discussing every nuance of what we believe, births of daughters, hours of slumber parties, deciding why where we stand on every issue, and even the birth of a son. (Between our nine children they got the only son.) God has blessed us with their friendship. We are thankful to Him for them. And thankful they are willing to house us while we bask in their hospitality for a week!

Thanks for being our friends, Rhodes family! A very gracious post, especially since I did not have ANY chocolate ice cream for Ray. We love you guys; we are the rich ones!
