"Valley of Vision"

"O God, We bless thee, our Creator, Preserver, Benefactor, Teacher, for opening to us the volume of nature where we may read and consider thy works." pg.380

How many times have I prayed a prayer of thanksgiving to God for His works in Creation? Yet, as Ray read from the Valley of Vision book during family devotions, I was struck by how feeble my prayers seem alongside the prayers of the Puritans who wrote such an awesome book of prayers and devotions. I have often read or prayed through Valley of Vision and thought that they seemed to say what I wanted to say only more beautifully. Ray taught us how this particular prayer is rich with language describing God's revelation to us in Creation and Scripture. The words create pictures for us that we can continuosly be amazed by God, who He is and what He has done for us.
