Sending Out Missionaries

This past Sunday, we had a very special service at our church that took on somewhat of a somber tone. Besides the Lord's Supper and welcoming new members into our church, we sent out a missionary. When someone in our church is going out of town and we know they will be around unsaved family members or friends, sometimes Ray will remind them of their witness. He'll say something like, "You be our missionary to that person." Today the missionary we sent out also happens to be employed by the Marines. But we know that he is leaving his job here as an elder in our small congregation to share the gospel with soldiers in Iraq. As Kevin planned to leave the comforts of home and his family, friends and church, our hearts were heavy and there were plenty of tears to be shared. Yet, we know that this call to service is one that he takes seriously with the mindset that God will use him. Kevin has been faithful to pray for our congregation and we will pray for him. I know that as we say to him, "See you later," there are many people across our nation doing the same thing. Our country is still at war, our soldiers still need our prayers, and their families still need our support.

Lori,
Thank you so much for your encouraging talk last night for us ladies here at Faith Bible Church. I am a committed keeper of my home and really felt a kindred spirit as I heard you speak! Thank you so much! God bless you and Ray in your ministry. We look forward every time your family pays us a visit here at Faith.

A kindred spirit,
Mrs. Melissa Reimers (thankful wife to Paul Reimers and mother to five precious blessings ages 1-10)
