"The Lord is going to do whatever it takes to slow you down." That's the first thing I heard on the phone when I said hello yesterday afternoon. My friend Barbara had already heard through the grapevine that I had broken my ankle. On Monday morning my neighbor couldn't walk with me so Ray went. As we got close to home I stepped off the side of the road and heard the snap as I landed on the ground. I'm so glad he was there to carry me the rest of the way home; Pam may be strong but not that strong. Now, I am sitting and moaning about how bad I hurt and how much I need to be doing. Barbara knows how hard it is for me to just sit and even harder for me to ask someone to bring me every little thing.
Speaking of the girls, they have been great. We had company coming last night and they insisted on not canceling the visit. They cleaned the house and prepared meals just like I would have done. And if our apples get ready before I can get up, they may even have to make apple jelly. I hope they can hold out for the next six weeks as well. As for me, I know there is a reason God has me hopping on crutches with a giant boot looming before me. I'm hoping that through these next few weeks I will be able to spend more time reading and praying and talking to those I love most.

Bless your heart! I am praying for you Sister! Just breaking my toe hurt so badly, I cannot imagine how bad that hurt! I am so glad that your girls are able to help you! Maybe I need to slow down too and avoid a trip to the hospital, crutches and all that! ;) I will keep you in my prayers! In Him, Eva
Thanks for the prayers. I've broken four toes also(a testament to my clumsiness) but this has certainly put a halt on things.
