Update on the Blessing Jar

As you may know our family has had a "blessing jar" for a while. We put names of family members in a jar who are showing a particular characteristic that we have been working on. As it turned out during Christmas we were working on contentment :) but after Christmas we thought that we shouldn't even vote for the thoughtfulness award. We had one family member who showed extreme thoughtfulness towards others. Mary searched through her own treasures and found the perfect gift for each of her sisters. (They had drawn names and agreed to only give the one gift, but she still wanted to give them all something.) Her gifts were well thought out, sacrificial, and nothing junky. They always give "sister gifts" on Christmas Eve night. On that night she was grinning so big and bouncing all around as each of her sisters opened their present. Her face showed true joy in giving and her thoughtfulness even caused some big girls to shed a few tears. The gifts she gave will be treasured for years to come and the example she gave will not be forgotten.
