Our Family Devotions

Usually, at about eight o'clock every night our family gathers for Bible time. This is a time when everyone in the house brings a Bible to the den and participates in the reading. Even the youngest "read" from their own Bible story books or make up something from the Bible. We have a lot lively discussion about what we are reading and some singing, praying and questions. We've had seasons when we sat at the kitchen table for everyone to write out what they hear or we have played games that Ray has made up. (The lost sheep game is definitely the favorite.) The devotions are informal and we always welcome any guests in our home to join in.
For the past couple of years Ray has been encouraged to write down some of his devotions for the month of December that other families could use for the Christmas season. This year he has finally finished it and has it available on ebook. Hopefully, next year we will have a publisher and it will be out in a nice coffee table version.
If your family isn't having regular devotions this is a great time to start the habit. You can focus on what everyone is thinking about (Christmas) and you have the devotions written out for you. This book would also be helpful to those who are already in the the routine but would like to do something a little different. Check it out:

way I have been thinking.
