Years ago, the girls gave Ray a beautiful sword as a symbol of his protection over them. The intention was for him to give the sword to the first husband for one of our daughters, as the symbol of the new husband being her new protector at the point of their marriage. During Rachel and Adrian's wedding we had planned to present Adrian with his sword, but time ran out and we forgot.
Since he was the first "knight in shining armor" to come along, we celebrated Adrian's birthday with a "First Knight" theme. We watched the movie First Knight and played outside, but I think the best thing was Adrian finally getting his sword. Rachel and Adrian gave Ray a new sword for him to present to the next "knight" that comes along to protect one of our girls. 
The birthday boy is always trying to sneak in kisses from his beautiful bride, and Abigail thinks they are so funny!
