We recently found some paper dolls that had been missing for years! The big girls played with paper dolls all the time, even making dolls for families we know by cutting people out of magazines. A few years ago, they set on a search to find them for Mary and Lydia to play and we thought they were lost forever. I had forgotten all of the sets we had, but obviously it was a favorite gift for us to get. We have sets of several presidents, Little Women, Shirley Temple, Little House on the Prairie, Robert E. Lee and Civil War.
At this very moment Lydia is on the floor of the living room acting out a wedding ceremony for Richard Nixon's daughter and her husband. She just said, "It's so hard to decide which ones to play with first." She's even learning a little history along with her playing.
There is no telling what I would find if I would clean out closets more often.
