The sweet beautimous Nadia
When we have company at our home in the evenings, we often include them in our family Bible times. While celebrating birthdays last week we had a sweet family with small children whom we love dearly. We played charades and enjoyed the fun that all of the children had, even encouraging a little "wildness." When it was almost time for the night to end, Ray grabbed his Bible to have Bible time before anyone left. He and I both had forgotten about the "transition" time between "wild" fun and reverence for God's Word. So, what ended up happening is the poor mommy spent the next little "wrestling" her littlest one to try to get him to calm down and sit still.
It's important for little ones to play hard, they can learn to work hard like that, but it's also important for them to learn to sit still. We make a mistake in having a "grand ole run wild" time then saying, let's sit down and be reverent. Even adults need some time to get their hearts right. (Ever wonder why there is a prelude in church services?)
This sweet family is doing such a great job raising their little ones... I'm afraid we didn't help them much that night. Hopefully, next time we'll remember to start slowing things down a little before expecting so much.
Adrian acts out NYPD
We never guessed what Ray was trying to act out....
