We start school tomorrow, and I just realized I haven't made out lesson plans! I really like the laid back approach to homeschooling, but it has its disadvantages. One of those being, it just doesn't happen on its on. Homeschooling requires work and forethought, otherwise, it's not schooling. When it comes to homschooling routine is my best help. We do a lot of the same things from one year to the next so I don't have to do too much extra planning. I remember in the early days I blocked out a week of planning. This year I may have done a full day's worth of planning, and most of that was for Sarah since she's in high school and she's on a different track than Hannah. In a few weeks I'll try to post what each girl is doing this year after we have settled into the "routine" of school. (You know I use the word routine very loosely:)

I'm in the boat with you (and wrote about it on my blog this week)! I like laid back, too, but I know that I need parameters to keep me and the kids on track.
I look forward to your update... I always like to see what others are doing in their homeschools.
