What Does Lydia Do?

Over the course of any given basketball season we sit through a lot of practices and games. We drive many miles and sit in many gyms. Lydia has been going through this process every season since she was a newborn. Many parents took turns holding her, shielding her from flying balls and letting her and Mary hang out in the concession stand with them. Hopefully, both of the younger girls are learning life lessons through all of this watching. There are plenty of lessons to be learned on and off of the court if I am faithful to point them out.

Last week, Lydia was very sick with strep throat before the state tournaments began. She had a high fever for four days before we left so she was still really weak when the games started on Thursday. We sat through at least eleven games over the course of three days. I carried a basket of toys and goodies for her to have plenty of stuff to do, but the main thing she wanted to do was sit in my lap and sleep. It's no wonder I was sore the day we got home.

I have a really cute picture that I was very tempted to post of her learning the science of static electricity in a very real way. Her hair was standing out away from her head all the way around. But apparently she is getting a little too old for me to post pictures like that of her.
