The Book of Wisdom

Reading in Proverbs lately I am reminded of the need for wisdom. It has been said that parents of teenagers should read Proverbs to their children every day. I have made great use of my quiet times with Lydia (5) more than anything. Many people read a portion of the book every day with thier daily Bible readings and I plan to add reading something from Proverbs every day at our morning devotions when school starts.
It is a good thing that God gave us a book of instruction that can cut straight to the heart of our sin. We are constantly warned of the way of ruin for the foolish, simple, wicked and scoffer.
Each verse does not always stand on its on though. As I read 21:14, I went straight to the study notes for that one. I was again reminded that we can't take Scripture out of the context in which it was placed. Proverbs has so many nuggets of truth I forget to read it as a whole or as sections too.
