Trek across Virginia

On our way home from Virginia we took a few detours and ended up making the 11 hour trip in 22 hours. That wasn't hard to do considering we drove through Lexington, VA and made stops at Virginia Military Institute, Washington and Lee University and Monticello. All of our stops were great but the highlight of the day was Monticello. Ray and I had gone years ago when Rachel was very small so we were actually able to learn a lot this time. Thomas Jefferson's home is beautiful and was equipped with the latest technology of the day. It is wonderfully preserved and was a nice ending to our trip. I think most of the girls were very impressed with the preserved horse that Stonewall Jackson owned. Getting home at 2:00 in the morning made for a slow start the next day, but we are fully recovered and getting ready for our trip.
