Road Trip

This past weekend Sarah and I took a road trip to visit some friends. It was great to see our friends and hang out with just Sarah. When you have more than one or two children, it seems that someone gets lost in the crowd. When you have a child who is especially quiet and a natural peacemaker, she may really get lost. We spent the 3 hour ride chatting, listening to music and practicing our memory work. (By the way, I turned the 3 hour ride into a 4 and a half hour ride with several wrong turns.)
In our home-schooling I try to spend almost an hour every day with each of the girls. The older ones don't always get a full hour, but I try to give them some undivided attention. Of course there are several others around, often interruptions, and we are talking about school - so - this doesn't give me much time to find out where their hearts are. Teenagers like to talk best late at night, when I can't hold my eyes open. This trip was a great opportunity to spend time with Sarah. I hope to get to do this more often with all of the girls.
