There is something very rewarding about making your own sauces and mixes. Here is a taco seasoning mix that I have used for quite a while and we really like it.
6 teaspoons chili powder
4 1/2 teaspoons cumin
5 teaspoons paprika
3 teaspoons onion powder
2 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/8-1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
The recipe says it's twice as strong so only use half. I haven't found that to be the case, but my chili powder may be a little old. Use 2 tablespoons for 1 packet of the store bought stuff.
You know how God is always working on my pride. I was so proud of making my own seasoning mix today, when the recipe I was putting it in called for cream of mushroom soup. You got it - I had to use canned soup.
