Recently, I read a great article from a young girl who responded to "the question." You know the question I mean - "What are going to do after you graduate?" Last year the questions really began to pour in for Rachel. There were many comments from friends and family. I think because we choose to send Rachel to a Christian school many thought that she might be ready to go on off to college and get on the "right track to success." As graduation is approaching I thought it might be appropriate to remember the reasons we are all choosing to live in the way we do. Ray and I can't be more thankful that Rachel has asked to stay home and help our family. I have an endless list of things that she can do that will enable her to be a godly wife and mother. Her desire is to be married and start homemaking as soon as God would allow. If you would like to read Rachel's thoughts on this subject, go to the August 2006 blogs titled "Rachel's Letter."
Here is link to the article which I thought was good. http://visionarydaughters.com/2007/03/ Just a side note would be this - When people ask what you are doing after you graduate from school, you are not suffering. People in general are just interested in what kids are doing and would like to know. There are a lot of well meaning friends and family who question our choice for not sending Rachel off to college. Those same people are not persecuting us or her. Sure it's irritating for them to try to push the world's idea of success on us. Jesus was persecuted, Paul was persecuted, Stephen, Daniel, Christians in Sudan, etc. You get the message. We as Christians have a message to tell to the world. We should all be patient and share that message in a loving and kind way. I am sure these young ladies are not comparing their "suffering" with Jesus' but I want us all to remember we live an easy life compared to some Christians.
